How to give an acceptance speech?

I have advised two people on how to give an acceptance speech.

Brian Jenner, founder of the Founder of the European Speechwriter Network gave this advice on BBC News just before the recent Oscars.

I have adapted his final piece of advice when making an acceptance speech:
